Recently, Shenyang Sanland Mining Engineering Co., Ltd. successfully completed the painting process for a 5.5-meter diameter SAG mill shell. As shown in the workshop, the shell has received its protective coating and presents a finished appearance, marking another important milestone in the manufacturing of this large-scale grinding equipment component. The shell is now preparing for the next stage of assembly and project delivery.

As the primary structural component of a Semi-Autogenous Grinding (SAG) Mill, the shell houses the grinding media, liners, and ore materials while withstanding significant operational loads. During operation, the rotating shell lifts and drops the ore and grinding media, generating impact and grinding forces that reduce the material to the required particle size. As a result, the quality of the mill shell plays a critical role in grinding efficiency, operational stability, and equipment service life.

The 5.5-meter diameter SAG mill shell currently under production is a heavy-duty component designed for large mining operations.
